Emeritus Professor Ricca Edmondson, in memoriam

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our colleague Ricca Edmondson, who left us last 28th June 2021. Ricca’s contribution to the European Sociological Association and to Sociology was profound and enduring. She was member of the Executive Committee between 2011 and 2015, and a pillar in the development and consolidation of the European Journal of Cultural and Political Sociology. She was also coordinator of the RN01 Aging in Europe, a field in which she contributed with the study of wisdom as a source of understanding the role of older people in society and of social innovation in general.

Ricca was cherished dearly by all those who knew her. Her death is a profound loss. We will all miss her.
