Bernadette Brereton | Dundalk Institute of Technology, Ireland
Sociologist, educator and researcher. Co-ordinator of the ESA RN-10 – Sociology of Education – since 2019 and member of the Executive since 2007. Member of the Editorial Board of AISHE-J and SEHEJ journals. Co-editor of a Joint Special Issue of AISHE-J with the collaboration of ESA RN10: ‘Higher Education, Inclusivity and Organisational Change’ (2018). Keynote speaker at the UNESCO conference 'Education and the Challenges in a Multicultural World' in Warsaw (2021). One of 9 final nominees for the National Forum Teaching and Learning Research Fellowships – the most prestigious individual teaching and learning award in Ireland (2020). Member of the MBS team, National Education Award - Best International Collaboration (2019, 2018) and Best Academic Practice (2018). Member of the National Forum Professional Development Expert Group and mentored the 'Teachers and Researchers' meitheal which examined the NF PD Framework Domains and typology of PD Activities (2017). She won the National Forum Teaching Expert Team Award (2016).
Roberta Ricucci | University of Turin, Italy
Roberta Ricucci is Associate Professor of Sociology of Culture at the University of Turin and an affiliate at the Center for the Study of Religion and Society, University of Notre Dame. Her research focuses on youth, education and religious pluralism within migratory processes, publishing internationally on how local societies, human mobilities and intercultural dynamics intertwine. She has a strong interest in improving public awareness of sociological findings, as it certifies her selection as an expert in migration studies by the UN. She endorses a cross-disciplinary approach and adaptability to diverse academic and cultural contexts, teaching and researching in Italy and worldwide. Her entrepreneurial attitude and ability to connect groups when submitting research proposals have provided others with numerous career opportunities. She has actively committed and participated within ESA and other European and American networks, where she has exhibited skills serving as a leader, board member, programme chair and communications officer. She is board member of RN34 - Sociology of Religion
